Black-Owned Ecommerce Brands We Love

Since 1926, each Black History Month has had a dedicated theme.

This year? Health & Wellness is the focus, so we took it as an opportunity to celebrate the plethora of Black-owned ecommerce brands making strides in this arena.

Whether you want to try out a new self-care routine, sip on superfoods, or detox your home, these black-owned ecommerce brands deliver the goods.

Ecommmerce is a thriving space for Black-owned businesses, and this shortlist is only just a peek into the many that we love. So without further adieu, let us introduce you to some brands we can't wait to add to cart and checkout now.

Green Heffa Farms

Tea & Herb Company

Green Heffa Farms is an herbal company specializing in herbal tea blends, and hemp-powered facial steams. A certified B corporation, founder Clarenda "Cee" Stanley is a leader in the agricultural space. Ecological practices are the north star on her 15-acre farm that grows all the herbs for Green Heffa products. So whether you are in the mood for a refreshing Sanitea or a skin-brightening hemp-powered facial steam, Green Heffa Farms is the perfect addition to your wellness routine.

Black Garnet Books

Bookshop

Curl up with a book and enjoy some much-needed respite. Black Garnet Books is a woman-owned bookstore that primarily stocks adult and YA contemporary literature by Black and racially diverse authors.

Curated by their team of booksellers from their brick-n-mortar in Minneapolis, MN, the book selection of Black Garnet Books runs the gamut of black experience and storytelling. This indie bookstore is creating a healing community by highlighting black voices in the city that sparked the 2020 protests to commemorate George Floyd's life.

Grounded Plants

Plant Shop

Plant-people are the first to tell you that their green friends are a source of stress relief and joy, and Grounded Plants wants to spread the love. With a mission to "help you disconnect and decompress through the appreciation of plants in the spaces we occupy," they're delivering (literally) on their mission to share plants as a resource for wellbeing. Shop their selection or get answers to all your pressing plant-care questions, then take a deep breath and enjoy the foliage.

Oui The People

Body Care Brand

Before Oui The People, the shaving offered two options: razors resembling racecars or whose pastel color palette would be at home in an easter basket. Oui The People sought to change that; what began as a shaving brand evolved into a body-care company and now a mission to change the beauty industry. They want to change the narrative into that which helps all people "feel great in the skin you're already in" by providing products that support you exactly as you are.

Their high-end body products are free of toxic ingredients, and the custom milled steel razors eliminate plastics bound for the landfill. Everything about the brand invites you to "come as you are, not as you "should" be."

Golde

Superfood & Wellness Brand

Everything about Golde makes you feel good: from the sunny branding to the superfood-based, sure-to-boost your mood, immunity, and glow products. On a mission to "make wellness easy, accessible, and fun for all," they're delivering on their promise because it's impossible not to want their products in your everyday routine.

Choose a delicious tonic blend or a facial mask to amp your glow; either way, you'll get products delivered to your doorstep that will help you "feel like your best self."

For Tmrw

Non-Toxic Beauty Brand

Beauty rituals run more than skin deep, and anyone who finds a self-care ritual to be a balm for stressful times knows this to be true. FOR TMRW is a beauty brand "rooted in the idea that color can improve your wellbeing," and nail polish is the perfect way to include some mood-boosting color into your everyday. What's more, their formulations are free of the ten most harmful chemicals commonly found in nail polish.

Founded by a former mental health clinician, the brand donates a portion of sales to Sad Girls Club, a community for women of color that helps to diminish the stigma around mental health. This brand walks its talk on every front while delivering products their customers adore.

Goodee

Home & Lifestyle Marketplace

GOODEE is an online shopping haven with lust-worthy products and a world-changing ethos. With homewares and lifestyle products curated for "good design, good people, and good impact." Like true ecomm rebels, they "believe conscious commerce has the power to transform the world and seek to empower both creators and consumers to create change by championing community, transparency, and sustainability."

Their visionary approach and beautifully curated market are a feast for the eyes that sweetens the heart. Shop your way to the home decor of your dreams.

The Honey Pot

Women’s Health Brand

Natural menstrual care items prioritize women's comfort and health at the Honey Pot Co. After a long personal struggle, founder Beu Dixon formulated the products and found relief and lasting feminine health. In her mission to share the wisdom, she's filled a gap in the woman's care space with products that are the "1st plant-derived feminine care system on the market" and formulated with healthy, supportive ingredients.

Celebrate, shop, repeat.

We could go on about the many innovative Black-owned ecommerce brands making an impact towards better physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, and know you're eager to make these brands and others will become a mainstay in your shopping routine. We're thrilled to be a part of the ecomm rebellion in full swing and are endlessly inspired by the many Black-owned brands leading the charge.
