Know Your Customers

Identify visitors, track user behavior, and gain deeper insights about your customers by installing your Drip JavaScript snippet. Your JavaScript snippet is the direct link between your Drip account and your website. Every Drip account comes with its own unique snippet that you can copy and paste onto your website.

Install the snippet to track visitors on your site and to create personalized customer interactions. The snippet allows you to:

Locate Your Snippet

Find your snippet under Settings > Account > Site Setup. There is no need to modify the code, you can copy and paste it directly into your website code as it is.

You must be an account owner or an account admin to locate the Snippet in Drip.

Install Your Snippet On a Custom Site

Before you install your snippet, make sure that it has not been previously installed with any third-party integrations on your site. Once you’ve confirmed that the snippet is not on your site, copy and paste the code found under Site Setup right before the closing </body> tag. Include this code on pages where you aren’t displaying any Drip forms so that we can accurately track visitor stats for you.

If you’re using Google Tag Manager, WordPress, Shopify, or Magento V2, you do not need to manually install the snippet on your website.

Install Your Snippet on a WooCommerce Store

Automatically install your JavaScript snippet through the Drip for WooCommerce plugin. Once installed, the plugin automatically adds the snippet to every page of your site. To install the plugin:

  1. Log in to your WordPress account
  2. Go to Plugins > Add New 
  3. Search by author for "getdrip" 
  4. Click Install Now on Drip for WooCommerce (NOT Drip for WordPress)
  5. Click Activate plugin

Your Drip JavaScript Snippet will be automatically installed on every page of your WooCommerce site.

Install Your Snippet on a Squarespace Site

To install your Drip JavaScript snippet to your Squarespace site:

  1. Log in to your Squarespace account

  2. Got to your site Settings

  3. Go to Advanced settings > Code Injection

  4. Locate the Footer heading and paste your Drip snippet into the text area

  5. Click Save to update your changes

Once saved, any active Widget opt-in forms currently activated in your Drip account will appear on your Squarespace site.

Install Your Snippet on a Weebly Site

To install your Drip JavaScript snippet on your Weebly site:

  1. Log in to your Weebly account

  2. Go to Sites Admin > Edit Site

  3. Click Settings > SEO  

  4. Paste your JavaScript snippet into the Footer Code area

  5. Click Save > Publish

Install Your Snippet on a Wix Site

Include your Drip JavaScript snippet via the Wix code editor.

  1. Follow these instructions on how to locate and add custom code to your site

  2. In your Wix site code, paste the snippet in between the "Body - Start" and "Body - End"

Install Your Snippet on a Shopify Site

Drip automatically installs your JavaScript snippet in your Shopify store’s theme when you connect the integration, so there is no need to do it manually.

Install Your Snippet on a Magento Site

For the Magento 1 extension, the Drip Magento plugin installs your JavaScript snippet on product pages and newly created product pages only. If you have a home page or a blog article, it’s not installed onto those pages and you will want to install it manually.

To manually install the snippet for the M1 extension:

  1. Log into your Magento store

  2. Go to the Admin Panel > CMS > Pages

  3. Click on the page you would like to install your snippet on

  4. Click Content

  5. Click on the HTML button to view the source code

  6. Paste the JavaScript snippet in the HTML Source Editor

  7. Click Update > Save Page

Now your Drip JS snippet is installed on that page. Repeat these steps for each page that is not a product page.

For the Magento 2 extension, the Drip JS snippet is automatically installed on non-product pages so you do not need to manually install it.  

Check the Snippet on your Website

Once you’ve published your site and installed your Drip JavaScript Snippet, double-check that the snippet appears in your site's source code by inspecting your site’s source code.

Inspect your site’s source code in Chrome, Firefox, or Explorer

  1. Go to your website’s URL

  2. Right-click on the page and select "View page source"

  3. Search the code (Control + F) for “getdrip”

  4. Arrow down until you see your snippet

Inspect your site’s source code in Safari

  1. Go to the Safari menu bar

  2. Click Safari > Preferences

  3. Select the Advanced tab

  4. Click Develop

  5. Choose Show Web Inspector

Once you see the JavaScript snippet is showing in your site page source code then you're all set to go.
